Annabelle Ballard accepts briefs to appear (led and unled) and advise in a broad range of matters. She predominantly practices in commercial law, costs, administrative law, and regulatory matters, and has a particular interest in matters with a financial dimension.
Since coming to the Bar, she has been briefed to appear in the Supreme Court of Victoria (Costs Court), Federal Court of Australia, Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, VCAT, the AAT (General Division), and various Magistrates Courts. She is available to appear in both metropolitan and regional courts.
Annabelle offers clients considered, timely and practical advice. She prides herself on clear communication and being responsive and easy to work with. She is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for clients in a timely and cost-effective manner.
In 2024, Annabelle Ballard attained a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne, which she completed with a H1 average. She also holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts from Monash University. While Annabelle was at Monash, she was an editor of Lot’s Wife Magazine and studied a semester abroad at Osaka University.
Annabelle is currently an Associate Teaching Fellow at Deakin University and has previously worked as a sessional tutor. She also sits on the Victorian Bar News Committee and is one of the founding members and secretary of the Hock & Seltzer Society Barristers Association.
